In an email titled "Honoring the Harvard Class of 2020," the Harvard Commencement Office announces plans for a virtual conferral of degrees on May 28.

"Dear Members of the Harvard Community,

We invite you to join the president, provost, deans, and faculty for a special online event on Thursday, May 28, at 11:00 a.m. EDT, to celebrate the achievements of our graduates and to confer their academic degrees. For more information on our University-wide program, as well as details and links to individual School ceremonies, see [here](http://click.hu.harvard.edu/?qs=f9319f57758f03c20d8e7a53812ac16f55f9e222ed696acd457a8269fef0c19e207059c3c8651360c9315f3244e2ec77bd2336292f086d70).

Our soon-to-be alumni will enter a world very different from the one they imagined just a few weeks ago. While we look forward with great anticipation to a time when it is safe for us to honor the members of the Harvard Class of 2020 in person, we hope you will take a moment to gather with the University community online to acknowledge their accomplishments, their creativity, their kindness, and their knowledge."

Following the Harvard-wide ceremony, at 12:30 pm on May 28 the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) will hold a Graduation Recognition Ceremony. Dean Emma Dench will join student representatives in providing remarks, names of participating graduates will be read, and submitted photos displayed and grouped by program. The [GSAS Commencement page](https://gsas.harvard.edu/academics/commencement) has further details.
