A group of RSEA students enjoyed the opportunity to chat with Eyck Freymann (AM '18) over picnic lunch. Currently a doctoral candidate in Area Studies (China) at the University of Oxford, Eyck shared reflections on reseaching current affairs and on the experience of turning his Master's thesis into a book, “One Belt One Road: Chinese Power Meets the World” (published November 2020 by Harvard University Press). He advised students to make the most of Harvard's resources, get to know their faculty mentors, and hone their language and research skills.
