Nate Adler
Nate Adler currently serves as a Principal Director within the  Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy at the Department of Defense. He is a member of the Senior Executive Service. Most recently, from 2014-2021, Adler served on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence where he led the Committee’s work on a range of sensitive programs with responsibility for East Asia and served as the intelligence briefer and advisor to three Committee Chairs. From 2017-2021 he served as the intelligence briefer and advisor to then-Senator Kamala D. Harris.  Prior to joining the Committee Adler was the defense and foreign policy advisor to Senator John D. Rockefeller IV and a fellow with the Department of Defense. He has been a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Project on Nuclear Issues Scholar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. From 2005-2006 he was a Fulbright Scholar with the U.S. Department of State in South Korea. Adler holds an MA in East Asian Studies from Harvard University and an MPA in International Relations from Princeton University. A native of Northern California, he currently lives with his wife in Washington DC.
