China: My research focuses on the transnational and cultural history of late imperial China and late Victorian Britain. I am interested in their perceptions and imaginations of each other in nineteenth-century popular culture in a broader context of colonialism and imperialism. I am also interested in studying the formation of masculine and heroic identities during this period.

In my spare time, I enjoy singing A Cappella, cooking, watching stand-up comedy shows, and visiting museums as a museum enthusiast.
